production journey
production journey
first we created the necessary documents that would be needed for the radio drama, we then started production by recording the lines for all of the voice actors which did take a fair amount of time to get done due to both the extensive amount of lines that needed to be recorded and the fact that one of our members did not turn up consistently this meant that the rest of us had to wait for him to turn up which resulted in time being wasted when it could be used to complete the recordings to then move onto the next areas of the radio drama that would need to be done.
Once we were able to have all of the recordings completed we then moved onto recording sounds that would be needed to create a sense of atmosphere based on the events that would take place in terms of the main character ( Johnny) and how social media had a negative impact on his mental health and attitude to his everyday life as well as his life in school, these sounds included the noise of students during PE, during class and the affect social media has had on himself this involved him hiding away from his friends and family and becoming emotional because of what has happened to him because of the use of social media.
We then moved onto converting the file onto final cut pro and once that was completed we moved onto starting the editing process which did take a while to complete due to the fact that our team member who again was not in to help with completing his part of editing this again put more work on us to complete as we had to edit the entire piece this mainly involving trying to decrease the background noise which was the main problem that held the overall success of the radio drama back. We then also did the editing of the sound on garage band then moved onto exporting it from garage band to a mp4 format so it was accessible on final cut pro and then had to ensure that the audio was balanced and then added the background sounds once that was completed we had to make sure the audio was clear and balanced.
Then we gave the radio to the audience and received feedback based on the radio itself and attempted to make improvements based on the responses of the audience to the best of our ability even though it was not able to be completely fixed we finally exported it to YouTube.
