Dialogue is where interaction is occurred between individuals that use spoken word as a way to communicate with each other .

In the movie trailer black and blue , the movie is based on a cop that is being hunted after she founds out about cops killing an innocent guy and has the footage on her bodycam and is on the run trying to get to expose what they have done whilst being hunted by people on the streets and cops alike , she uses help of a man who works in a shop to get away from being caught and to help expose the cops .

In the beginning of the trailer we see at (0:22) another cop talking to the main protagonist (the rookie cop) about who she is when chose to become a cop and how she is 'blue' and that she must not forget who she is , this creates meaning as this shows how cops must stick together in order to bring those who are against the police force to justice and that those who live on the streets have no respect for the cops and that the only people that should be trusted are the police force whereas those who live on the streets cant be trusted and are not one of them .As time progresses in the trailer (0:39) we hear how the streets aren't the sort of places should be taken lightly as they are a warzone for both black and blue .

In the movie countdown , the trailer gives a clear idea of what the movie is about in this case its shown to be about an app that tells you the exact time you will die and how many people download it with some having extensive periods of time to live meaning that they do not have to worry about the danger that lies ahead for those who are unfortunate to have very limited time left until they are dead , the beginning of the trailer gives an insight to what will happen to those who's timer runs out soon as they will meet a disturbing end .

Purpose in the media text
The purpose in the trailer is shown within the trailer through the use of the music in the background that is played within the trailer this gives the audience an idea that it will involve scenes that are meant to frighten or keep viewers in an unsettling state , this starts within the first part of the trailer at (0:01) where the question 'what if an app could tell you how long before you die ? ' this will give an unsettling feeling for viewers .
How it enhances visuals
enhancing visuals is where certain dialogue or images create a deeper meaning behind a certain scene or aspect of a media text .

Within the radio broadcast of Bad cops we hear the sound of phone call from the leader of a corrupt police force , the leader replies back to the speaker and calls her , we hear this happen as the sound of a telephone is heard right before we hear the conversation between the speaker and the leader of the police task force , this gives the audience the feeling that they are hearing a live call from the prison where the leader of the corrupt police unit is heard this creates an image of the conversation between the 2 people and the feeling that those who are listening are actually part of the conversation . https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/w3ct2gy

The purpose of the sound of the call is to gain the interest of the audience this is done by creating an atmosphere for the audience that they feel that they are a part of , so the conversation and the sound of the call from the prison is to make the audience have an image in their mind of what is actually happening in the radio broadcast , as well as the voices of victims that express their feelings about what they had gone through because of the actions of the rogue police force .
Use of silence
Silence is a an aspect of media texts that has various purposes such as create excitement for audiences , leaving audiences on the edge and also use as a way to frighten viewers .

In the movie Halloween the antagonist (Michael Myers) does not speak at all , this creates a more frightening experience for audiences as the character doesn't speak which gives him the advantage of attacking his victims without them even knowing where he is which makes it unpredictable to know who he will go for next and where he will come from to attack them or who he is . In the trailer we see at (2:36) he hides in a closet and when the person opens the closet he immediately attacks them .
